Flipped Classroom

Flipped Classroom es un modelo pedagógico que plantea invertir el modelo tradicional de enseñanza de tal forma que, los alumnos estudian los contenidos previamente (fuera del aula) y el tiempo de clase se dedica a actividades prácticas e interactivas que favorezcan el aprendizaje significativo.

El pasado 21 de noviembre desde el departamento de Learning Innovation organizamos  un taller para profesores conducido por Raúl Santiago, doctor en CC de la Educación y experto en Flipped Classroom.

Durante el taller hicimos un recorrido por diversas herramientas de video como Movenote, Explain Everything  o Edpuzzle en el que se pueden incluir preguntas para enriquecer el video. Además trabajamos con herramientas de evaluación como Socrative o Kahoot que permiten sondear el nivel de conocimientos de los alumnos de forma rápida e interactiva. Incluso revisamos metodologías inductivas centradas en el aprendizaje del alumno como Peer Instruction o Just in Time Teaching, y la conexión de la taxonomía de Bloom con el modelo Flipped.

Estos son algunos comentarios de los profesores que participaron en el taller: “Muy interesante y enriquecedor,” “Me ha dado claves importantes para implementar mis clases.” “Me ha gustado muchísimo.” “Muy recomendable.” “Ha merecido mucho la pena asistir. Aprendí mucho.”

The flipped classroom is a pedagogical model that looks to switch the traditional teaching model in order to encourage students to study content outside the class; inventing face-to-face time, hands-on and interactive activities to enhance learning.

On 21st of November, the Learning Innovation department organized a workshop for professors, given by Raul Santiago, PhD in Educational sciences and expert in Flipped Classroom.

During the workshop, we looked over different tools – starting with video development, such as: Movenote, Explain Everything and Edpuzzle. You can use these tools for recording videos, screencasting and video quizzing. In addition, we worked with evaluation tools like Socrative and Kahoot. These tools allow you to test how well your students actually know the material in a quick, fun and interactive way. Moreover, we went through inductive methodologies centered in student learning, such as peer instruction and just-in-time teacher, as well as the connection between Bloom’s taxonomy and the Flipped Model.
